Where do I begin. I started this site to display a few pieces of my recent work, mostly I've only displayed my woodworking and 'ever-growing' vintage tool obsession to Lumberjocks.com . I've learned more from that site in the last year and a half than I ever knew before, and have them to thank for how much I've learned and improved my skills.
I took woodshop in high school for 3 years, and I really enjoyed it, but didn't really do any kind of woodworking through college. Then about one year after graduation, while I was living in Olympia, Washington, a good friend was getting married, so I made him a Seattle Seahawks beer pong table, and since then it has gone from a once in a while hobby to my absolute favorite thing to do (of course, other than spending time with my smoking hot wife and our great 3-year old yellow lab ;-) ). I've turned half of my basement into a woodworking shop, I'm constantly looking for new tools and ways to improve my setup and learn new skills. Aside from high school, I'm 100% self taught, again thanks to Lumberjocks I've learned probably 75% of what I know now; I've learned how to completely restore an old rusted up vintage tool, how to tune and sharpen a hand plane, how to make various shop jigs to improve efficiency, make my own shop-made tools, I've learned many different joinery techniques (and several that I haven't even had a chance to tackle yet), finishing methods, the list goes on and on. If you have a woodworking question, you name it and you will find help on LJ's.
Now I'm 32 and have been married for 5 years to an absolutely beautiful woman who has made be a better person in more ways than I can express. We have a 10 year old tabby cat and a 3 year old yellow lab, two of the best companions my wife and I could ask for. I was born and raised in Yamhill, Oregon and now I live in Tigard just a few blocks from the city limits of Portland.
Thanks for stopping by!
